Everyday bowls

The core lineup

Single fish bowls, combinations and the cooked options for guests who skip raw fish.

All Aburi (seared) and spicy ahi sushi items are drizzled with kabayaki (unagi) sauce. Sauce is not pictured.

Premium

When you want the good stuff

Sashimi bowls, ikura, Hokkaido scallop and uni. Availability moves with what comes in, so call the store if one of these is the reason for the trip.

How a bowl is built

Pick the fish, then the sauce

Everything is cut and mixed after you order, which is why the sauce is a choice rather than something that happened this morning.

1. The fish

  • AhiLean, mild, the base of the everyday bowls.
  • SalmonRicher and softer, higher in fat.
  • HamachiFirmer bite, a finish that lingers.
  • Scallop and ikuraThe premium toppings, moving with what comes in.

2. The sauce

  • ShoyuThe reference point. Clean and savory, lets the ahi lead.
  • SpicyHeat plus a kabayaki finish. Ask us to leave the kabayaki off.
  • WasabiSits between shoyu and spicy, with the heat coming up the nose instead.
  • Yuzu shoyuShoyu with yuzu. Printed as its own bowl, E9, and offered on the salads.
  • OnionPrinted as a poke flavor on both store menus, September 2026.

3. The rest

Every bowl is served over lightly seasoned sushi rice. Avocado, sweet onion and green onion appear on the combination bowls, ikura on the premium ones.

Choosing for someone else? The Mixed Poke Bowl covers two styles at once, and the Domo Special runs three fish with avocado.

The sauces, at length

Cubed or sliced

Poke and sashimi are the same fish, handled differently

Poke is cut into cubes and mixed with sauce and onions, so the seasoning is part of the bite. Sashimi is sliced and laid over the rice unmixed, which puts the fish itself in front of you with nothing to hide behind.

If you are on the fence, the Domo Premium and the Sashimi Bowl sit on either side of that line at a similar price.

Poke elsewhere on the menu

Not everything with poke in it is a poke bowl

The same poke shows up over greens, next to hot udon and inside a bento. Useful when a bowl of rice is not what you are after.

Poke questions

What sauces can I get on ahi poke?

Shoyu, spicy, wasabi, yuzu shoyu or onion. Spicy poke is finished with kabayaki sauce, which you can ask us to leave off.

What is the difference between a poke bowl and a sashimi bowl?

Poke is cut into cubes and mixed with sauce and onions. Sashimi is sliced and laid over the rice unmixed, so you taste the fish on its own. The Sashimi Bowl and the Domo Premium sit on either side of that line.

Can I mix fish in one bowl?

Several bowls already do. The Domo Special and Domo Premium combine ahi, salmon and hamachi, and the Cali Salmon and Cali Hamachi bowls pair poke with sashimi in the same bowl.

Which bowl is the biggest?

The premium bowls, including the Domo Premium and the Sashimi Bowl, carry the most fish. The Ashley Kaisen Don is the largest of all when it is available, and it needs a call to the store first.

How much poke should I get for a group?

Bowls are built for one person. For a group, platters travel better and hold quality longer. See platters or the catering pages.

Feeding more than yourself

Bowls for one, platters for everyone
