Plan backward from the party

Grad parties in Hawaii run long, feed more people than the invite list suggested, and often overlap with two other parties the same weekend. Build in more food than the headcount implies, and lock your pickup time early.

Get the request in as soon as the date is set, even if the headcount is still moving. Quantities can be adjusted later. A pickup slot on the busiest Saturday in May cannot be conjured.

What works for a grad crowd

High piece count platters, plus cooked coverage. Teenagers and their friends will clear a California platter faster than anything else on the table, while the aunties and uncles work through the nigiri.

If the party runs across an afternoon, splitting the order into two pickup times keeps the second wave as fresh as the first. Ask about it in the request.

Questions

How early should I book graduation catering?

As early as you have a date. May and June are the busiest weeks of the year for every sushi counter on the island.

Can I increase the order closer to the date?

Usually, subject to what the kitchen has available that day. Flag it in the request so we plan for the possibility.

Can I split pickup into two times?

Ask in the request. For a long party it keeps the later food as fresh as the first round.

What is the largest order Domo can handle?

Send your headcount and we will tell you what is realistic for that date.
