What to order on your first visit
A confident walk through the menu for someone who has never ordered from Domo, sized for one person, two people, a group, and anyone who skips raw fish.

Order one thing you already recognize and one thing you don’t, and split the table between raw and cooked if anyone’s unsure. Domo’s menu is large enough to be intimidating on a first look. It doesn’t need to be. Here’s a confident starting order for one person, two people, a group, and the person at the table who isn’t eating raw fish.
Eating alone
Start with a poke bowl or a bento box, both built as a complete single meal. The Mixed Poke Bowl at $16.95 combines spicy ahi and onion ahi poke over rice, no chopstick technique required, just a bowl and a fork. If you want something warm alongside raw fish, the California + Ahi + Salmon + Ahi Poke Bento at $17.95 pairs nigiri, California roll and poke with rice, edamame and miso soup for $17.95.
If you’d rather try sushi in small format, the Kahala Aburi Set, 16 pieces for $36.95, gives you two pieces each of eight kinds, plain and torched salmon, ahi, hamachi and ebi. It’s a wide taste of the menu without committing to a full platter.
Two people sharing
Two people do well splitting a platter rather than each ordering separately. The Deluxe Sushi Platter, 32 pieces for $69.95, is a solid all-around order: spicy ahi bombs, salmon, hamachi, ahi and ebi nigiri, plus a California roll built in. It covers raw, cooked and a little spice in one box.
If you’d rather try more variety at a smaller scale, the Kahala Nigiri Set, 16 pieces for $36.95, spreads across ahi, salmon, hamachi, unagi, ebi, ika, masago and ikura, a genuine sampler rather than a repeat of two or three fish types. Add a California Roll at $13.95 if either of you wants a fallback that’s fully cooked.
Ordering for a group
For four or more people, think in platters, not individual rolls. The Mixed Combo Platter, 46 pieces for $61.95, carries the widest range on the menu: ebi, ahi, salmon and unagi nigiri, California roll, and assorted hosomaki, which means there’s something for the cautious eater and the person who wants real variety in the same box.
For a first group order, pairing that platter with the California Roll Platter, 32 pieces for $56.95 and fully cooked, is an easy way to make sure nobody at the table is stuck. That’s the same approach we recommend for any group order: pick one platter with range, and one platter that’s a safe fallback, rather than five platters that all do the same thing.
If your group is bigger than four, our platter comparison sorts every platter by price, piece count and what’s raw versus cooked, and the /menu/finder tool can point you at specific items based on how many people you’re feeding and what they like. For a party or office order beyond a handful of people, /catering is the faster path, since it’s built for exactly that kind of order.
If someone doesn’t eat raw fish
This comes up at almost every group order, and Domo’s menu has real answers for it, not an afterthought. The California Roll Platter is entirely crab, avocado and cucumber, no raw finfish anywhere on it, and it’s sized to sit next to a raw platter at the same table rather than off to the side. On its own, the California Roll at $13.95 is the single easiest cooked item to add to any order.
Beyond that, the Vegetarian + Inari roll at $14.95 skips fish entirely, and the Domo Bowl section is fully cooked across the board if someone wants a hot meal instead. For the full list of what’s actually cooked versus what only looks cooked, our guide to ordering when some guests skip raw fish walks through it item by item.
A few things worth knowing before you order
Everything is made to order. Nothing sits pre-made in a case. That’s why pickup happens at a set time rather than instantly, and why a platter tastes like it was built for you, because it was.
Wasabi comes on the side, not mixed in. Most platters and nigiri sets note this directly. Add as much or as little as you want rather than getting it built into every piece.
Pickup is from Kahala or Pearl Kai. Both locations build the same menu. Kahala is open daily 10:00am to 8:00pm, Pearl Kai daily 10:30am to 8:30pm. Order what you like, then pick a location that’s convenient.
Not sure where to start at all? /best-sellers groups the menu by situation, first time here, best poke, best sushi, best platter, best value, so you can browse by what you’re actually looking for instead of scrolling the whole menu.
Next step
Pick a lane above, one person, two, or a group, and go straight to /menu or /menu/finder to build the order. If you’re still unsure, the California Roll and the Mixed Poke Bowl are the two easiest starting points on the whole menu, and neither one requires knowing anything else about sushi first.
